Ifg you do, then West Kent Wheels 2 Work can help. Call us on 01883 732791. we would love to hear from you!

What is West Kent Wheels 2 Work?

It is a low cost moped loan scheme which is run by the East Surrey Rural Transport Partnership (ESRTP), a not-for-profit charity, based on the Kent/Surrey border.

What area does it cover?

You just need to live with these Borough or District areas of West Kent:

Maidstone

Sevenoaks

Tonbridge & Malling

Tunbridge Wells

Click here for a map showing these areas.

How long can I hire moped?

It's flexible, but we suggest a 6 month contract to get you started.

How much will it cost me?

Loan fees start from as little as £28 per week including VAT.

Do I have to tax and insure the moped?

No! Wheels 2 Work will do this for you.

What about servicing?

It depends where you live but we will direct you to the nearest dealer that we can.

Do I need a driving licence to ride a moped?

Yes, but a provisional will cover it. Just go to www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence to download your application form. Your licence will be with you in just a few days!

Do I need special training?

You will need a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training Certificate) before being allowed to ride but don't worry, this is a one day local training course which won't cost you a penny!

Do I need special safety clothing?

Yes, but the scheme will loan you all you need free of charge! You will get a motorcycle helmet, padded reflective jacket and padded gloves which are yours to keep at the end of a 6-month loan. Drivers leaving the scheme any earlier will be required to hand back the jacket and gloves but may keep the helmet.

Do I need my parent's permission to join the scheme if I am 16 or 17 years old?

Yes. All riders are asked to sign our "Moped Loan Terms and Conditions" and as a legal document, all those riders under the age of 18 will need their parent(s) or guardian(s) to co-sign.
